Vanas Apartments

We walked into town and back several times a day with our 4 month old, and it was no trouble. So don’t be put off by comments about the distance. Nikos, his family and staff were all incredibly kind, and we had a great stay at Vanas.

The best part was the service: everyone working at Vanas was helpful and accommodating, and the pool was very clean. The owners even drove us in their van when we first arrived. The location is quite far from the main port and uphill, though. The rooms and bathrooms were clean but dated, and the kitchenette looked basic. We didn't try it ourselves. Sound carries badly through the thin walls, and the old wooden window frames with original single glazing don't close properly. By the pool, noise from people at the bar at 01:00 am felt as if they were right in the room. Light sleepers may struggle. It's a standard, no-frills old apartment. For a cheap rate and a couple of nights, I guess it's alright. I would've regretted booking it for two weeks.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating from start to finish. It's a lovely quiet spot, about a 10min walk from all the action. Highly recommended!

You could hear everything happening in the room next door, and a lot of things in our own room weren't working. The refrigerator was one of them. The bathroom was run down, and the shower doors had come off their tracks. I felt completely ripped off. Maybe at 40€ a night it would be worth it, especially if drunk, but otherwise it's garbage. This "hotel" seems to be run by people who aren't in hospitality, and they're ripping off your hard earned money. Spend an extra 35€ and stay somewhere better.
