12 Months Luxury Resort

Having potable water available at the hotel was a nice bonus, and we never had to buy drinking water. We stayed in room 16, a Junior suit, and loved the sea view from its terrace. The hotel sits among the forest in a very picturesque spot, a couple of degrees cooler than down at the beach when temperatures there were above 35 degrees. Its position also worked well for visiting the area's beaches, with even the farthest one no more than a 35-minute drive away. We chose it for the facilities, including breakfast, a pool, large parking area, room cleaning, and a fitness area, and were happy with that decision. Breakfast didn't have a huge selection, but there was always enough basic food to choose from. The hotel is on a hill in a small, somewhat isolated village, so a car is a must. There isn't much within walking distance, but by car we could reach plenty of beaches, tavernas, and villages. The village has two small supermarkets for essentials, and near the old plane tree, which is over 1,000 years old, there's a nice church and cafe.

I’m reviewing the spa rather than the hotel. The reception team gave us a warm welcome, and the service was really nice. The massage was excellent.

I booked a reservation advertised as having “free cancellation” and cancelled it, but I still didn't receive the full amount I had paid. It took them about a month to respond, and they ignored my request to get all my money back. After I posted this review, they emailed to say the difference was 17 euro because of a fee. The actual difference is 77 euro, not 17. And why charge a fee for “Free cancellation” anyway?

The hilltop setting is quiet, and there are lots of taverns nearby. We could drive to beautiful beaches in 15-30 minutes, and the little pool was nice, though the water was very cold. There are quite a few things that need attention. The rooms look nice but aren't well maintained, and the bathroom sits in the middle of the room with no privacy at all. The many stairs around the hotel felt dangerous. Breakfast was the same every day, with descriptions only in Greek. There's a leisure room with a pool table and table tennis, but neither was maintained well. We also chose the hotel because it had a tennis court. On our last day, we booked an hour at 18.30, but when it was time to play, we were told it was occupied because our booking was for 16.30. That was very annoying. It's a nice place with lots of little things to fix, but it definitely wasn't the 5-star experience we paid for.
