Dareia Suites

We were sad to leave, and the only negative was that we couldn’t stay longer. The host even helped load our luggage into their car and take it to the neighbouring hotel for our final days before flying home. Our ground-floor suite felt like having our own villa. We weren’t sure about the layout with another suite above, but you don’t even notice it. The villa was impeccably clean, and the pool was brilliant. During an exceptionally hot week, the air conditioning kept the inside cool and made it easy to unwind after exploring. It’s a short walk to Tsilivi’s shops, restaurants, and nightlife, and being next door to the water park was a fun surprise. Even with those nearby, the villa was pleasantly quiet, a nice balance for a peaceful stay. The luxurious transfer on arrival and the fantastic hosts, who made sure we had everything we needed, made us feel welcome from the start. We can’t wait to return.

It’s easy to get around from here. Restaurants, the beach, and other things you need are within a 5-15 minute walk, and there’s a medical clinic about 10 minutes away on foot. I’d suggest shopping in Zakinthos city to avoid the tourist prices at nearby mini-markets. There’s private parking for a rental car, and a gas station close by. We had one of the floor apartments and it was better than we expected. The welcome was warm, and the walkthrough of the rooms, bathrooms, inside and outside kitchens, and washroom was clear and enough. Everything was very clean, with cleaning and towel and sun-towel changes every other day. There are two bedrooms, one with two single beds and one with a double, though they asked if we wanted a change, so that’s possible. Each bedroom has a full bathroom. There’s also an outdoor shower by the pool, which is cleaned every day by the pool guy, plus an outside toilet with a washing machine. The pool is spacious enough for four or more people and has a bubble-tubb function. We used the outdoor dining table a lot, and there’s a big outdoor BBQ and an outdoor bar with a fridge. No dishwasher is the one downside I can think of, but there’s always very hot water and things dry quickly. The Wi-Fi is good for Greek standards and works for streaming movies or TV on an iPad, though it isn’t extremely fast. Each room, including the living room, has a TV with local stations. The apartment also has everything else you might need, including a normal coffee machine and Nespresso, a hot water/tea maker, toaster, iron and ironing board, hairdryers, and more.

The host was so lovely and did everything to make our stay special. Thanks, Athene, for making our first holiday together so lovely. The rooms were great and the outdoor pool was gorgeous. We stayed at Dareia Suites at the beginning of May 2022 for our first holiday as a couple, and it was just perfect. I highly recommend it.

A real treat of a place, and I’d definitely recommend it. The modern design is lovely, there’s a pool, and everything was very clean. It’s close to Bouka Beach and lots of restaurants. Athena made us feel welcome and shared local information. We hope to come back!
