''Athenian Riviera'' Beach Apt

I loved the penthouse, especially the hot tub and water view. The room was huge, and the hotel felt clean and modern. There’s a small basement gym with basic equipment. The pool is a decent size for a boutique hotel, but it’s unheated and was chilly in April. Breakfast was included and came with plenty of variety and good quality each morning. I also saw the breakfast at the Four Seasons up the road, and Athenian's was actually better. I had a fish dinner at the restaurant one night, reasonably priced and delicious. Everyone at the front desk was incredibly helpful with local activities, directions, and calling cabs. They made me feel welcome. The neighborhood is a quiet, safe mix of small boutique hotels and private homes. Many homes were undergoing major renovations, but I wasn’t bothered by construction noise. Restaurants and the Lake are walkable. Lake V costs $20 euros to enter, but is worth a look. The main beaches are also easy to reach on foot and cost only 5-10 euros. Go early to Lake V because capacity is limited. There’s a grocery store, coffee shop, and pharmacy a few blocks away, which was convenient. With Cape Sounios to the south, Athens to the north, and the airport 25 minutes away, it made a perfect base.

It’s a short walk to the beach, and there are lots of nice restaurants and ice-cream shops nearby. The hotel is also close to a hop-on/hop-off buss into Athens city center, which takes a scenic route. There was some temporary construction across the street. The rooms are spacious, and the staff are friendly and get to know you quickly. We felt at home. Breakfast had a good continental and intercontinental selection. The swimming pool was a bit chilly in April, but our son loved it. A great holiday choice if you want to see Athens without staying in the busy part, and like having somewhere quiet and tranquilo to return to.

The hotel is nice overall, and we were comfortable during our stay. One thing that really stood out was the young woman at reception. I didn’t get her name, but she was friendly, professional, and handled everything with a great attitude. She made a very positive impression and deserves a big compliment. The biggest problem was the noise. The walls and insulation are poor, so we could clearly hear the hallway and neighboring rooms. Housekeeping was also very loud in the mornings, with conversations that were almost shouting, beyond the usual cleaning sounds. We were woken around 8:00 a.m. more than once, and I eventually had to step outside and ask them to keep their voices down. Aside from those issues, everything else was fine.

We spent our wedding weekend at Athenian Riviera Hotel & Suites and couldn’t have picked a better place. The staff helped make everything run smoothly for us and for guests who had travelled from different parts of the world. They patiently handled our group bookings, helped coordinate transport, and made everyone feel welcome. Every interaction was warm, professional, and genuinely kind.
