The views are lovely, but upkeep is mediocre at best, and ash and lava from the volcano have affected the golf course. It only has nine holes. The bigger problem was how management treated us. There were six of us playing, and they accused us of damaging a golf cart key that was merely loose. They claimed they'd just called the service department in Guatemala and said fixing it would cost USD 100. I don't believe they spoke to anyone, and we hadn't broken the key. They wouldn't let us leave. It felt like a scam. Be careful, this place isn't worth it.

The Hotel was gorgeous, but The Volcan del Fuego eruption 🌋 destroyed it and buried it under ash. I don't think it has been rebuilt, or ever will be.

The views of the volcanos were breathtaking. We had dinner outside, looking out across the scenery, and it was one of those experiences pictures can't really capture. Very romantic. The food was a mixed bag, though, and the quality is why I'm giving four stars. The beef tartare was wonderful and worth recommending. The octopus was frozen, chewy, and rubbery, so don't order that. Prices felt a little high for the food, but that scenery was priceless.

The golf was awesome, and I'd have given it five stars if checkout at the hotel hadn't soured the stay. The facilities and staff are excellent, but the accounting practices seem questionable, and they don't advise tourists about possible overcharges. Be prepared to pay a bit more than you should.

The pool looks out over an amazing valley, and the service and staff are great. I think this may be the most fantastic, exclusive golf resort in Guatemala, maybe even in the world. Incredible place!
