Casa La Historia Boutique Hotel

We spent a lazy afternoon by the pool, and the beds were comfortable. It takes about 15 minutes by car to downtown Antigua, so this is a nice spot for a quiet day or two during a busy trip. The house dog is sweet, peacocks wander around, and flowers are everywhere. The locked gate made us feel very safe. There’s a main house plus 5-6 Airbnbs in the compound. We heard the hot tub was cold, but they turned it on for us and it warmed up in about 15 minutes; it uses solar power. Breakfast was okay, around $7 American. Laundry cost 80 Quetzals per load, about $10, which felt a bit pricey, but they brought our folded clothes right to our Airbnb door a few hours later. The hosts were attentive and arranged our ride to the airport. We’d stay again. Gracias Ana, Edgar & Ruby!

Ana welcomed us warmly and picked us up at the airport with her driver, Carlos. The whole team was great, and they were very accommodating. Our room and the house were both beautiful. Breakfast was good, with great coffee. Awesome place and views. We’d definitely return.

Ana is the sweetest host, so welcoming and always making you feel at home. Her cooking is yummy, too. The mansion is beautiful, and staying here feels like stepping back in time and treating yourself to real luxury.
