We never had a problem walking to or from this lovely B&B, whatever the time of day, though it’s about a 15-minute walk from the city center. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the breakfast has a French theme, and the staff are warm and incredibly helpful.

The rooms are huge, clean, and felt safe. They give you your own keys, so you can come and go at any hour. The service was friendly and familiar, and breakfast was French style. There’s a great view of the water volcano, and from the rooftop you can see the fire volcano. It is a bit far from the main square, about a 15-minute walk. Watch out for rude drivers around Antigua’s traffic lights.

The personal service at Chez Daniel made the stay feel genuinely warm. Veronica welcomed me, and even though I arrived late, she took time to explain Antigua and share tailored recommendations that were really useful. With only four rooms, the boutique hotel has an intimate feel, and I got a real sense of local life in its colonial architecture and peaceful courtyards behind the historic walls. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, yet still an easy walk from the main attractions. My room had traditional features like red tile and French-style windows, with breathtaking volcano views. Having coffee and that scenery each morning was a lovely start to the day. Breakfast was French-inspired and very nice. I asked if they could include local protein, and they happily made delicious scrambled eggs and traditional red beans. They were also flexible with timing and served breakfast earlier than their official hours when I needed it. That care, the beautiful setting, and the attention from staff made the place feel more like staying with family than being just another guest. A lovely option for a small-scale Guatemalan experience and attentive personal service.

The garden is lovely, and a nice place to dry laundry. The location is quiet and near the market, just one block from downtown, though you do have to walk. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly. Veronica was especially helpful, arranging a taxi when I checked in and out and communicating with tour operators for me.

From our balcony we had a beautiful view of fuego every night. The room was huge, and the shower had hot water and good pressure. Breakfast each morning was great, with fresh fruit and continental-style options. It’s close enough to the center for the action, but far enough away to be peaceful when you want to relax in your room. Thanks, Daniel and Veronica. We’d happily recommend this place.
