The rooftop gives you a fantastic look at the volcanoes, including Fuego, and the whole place felt like the kind of hostel you hope to find. Staff were honest, helpful, kept everything spotless, and always seemed ready with an answer. The reception shop had fair prices, and there was free coffee or tea. Beds weren't the most comfortable and the showers could use an upgrade, but the cleanliness really stood out. We booked a shuttle to Lake Atitlan through Purpose because they were the cheapest we found and we trusted them. Our favourite hostel stay ever. Thanks for a great time!

I really liked having a women's-only four-person room. It gave me room to myself while still making it easy to meet other guests. Purpose Hostel may be the best hostel I've stayed in. The staff are incredibly kind, and it's great that they also employ people with disabilities. The place is clean, with plenty of spots to hang out, including the rooftop terrace. They were also accommodating about storing my bags during my Acatenango hike and after checkout. It's in a quieter part of Antigua, which made it a fabulous place to stay.

The staff made the stay for me. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and it felt like they truly cared. The hostel is run by women, and I felt safer and more at home here than I have while traveling in a long time. It's incredibly clean, the cleanest hostel I've been to, and the volcano views from the roof are the best in Antigua. I extended my visit, came back again, and would absolutely return.

That rooftop and the people I met there will stay with me. I can't wait to come back, so save a few cold Gallos for me to toast with purpose. Wendy and Sory are absolute gems, two of the kindest, most accommodating hostel staff I've met, and I used to work at a hostel myself. When you travel, you collect stories about the good, bad, and ugly places you stayed. At Purpose, I found only good, actually, only greatness. The hostel is clean and comfortable, in a great spot, with terrific restaurants nearby.

The one drawback for me was the bathrooms. Showers only had curtains, and the toilets didn't offer much privacy, which felt exposing at times since they're mixed gender. Apart from that, we really loved our five nights here. The staff are lovely, the kitchen is well equipped, and there are lots of places to relax. We stayed in both a four-person dorm and a private room, and both were clean and comfortable. The dorm had the essentials, including a plug, light, and bunk storage. The rooftop view was a big plus too. I enjoyed doing yoga while looking at the volcanoes and watching Fuego erupt at night.
