The owner was kind and helpful. He shared information about the city, brought me boiled water for my coffee, and reimbursed the second night without any hassle when I cancelled after finding another hotel. The location is fine, around a five to six minute walk from the center. Still, I wouldn’t recommend staying here based on my experience. My ground-floor room was freezing, and the extra blanket didn’t help enough. I ran the shower for several minutes, but the water stayed cold, so I skipped it. The bed was hard, and barking dogs outside, including the owner’s dog, plus a rooster crowing from midnight until dawn kept me awake all night. I also had to ask for towels and toilet paper that weren’t in the room. Maybe the upstairs rooms are warmer, have hot water, and more comfortable beds, but I can’t say.

The rooftop terrace was a lovely spot for sunrise and sunset, and the hotel is on a quiet street close to the market and buses to Antigua and Guatemala City. My room had soft lighting, a comfortable mattress, and solar-powered hot water. I booked directly with the hotel instead of using a third-party site, and Manuel appreciated that and gave me a nice discount. He was professional, kind, and made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. Mantiox Manuel!

Mr. Manuel was so helpful and friendly, and when it was cold outside he gave us extra blankets. The room was clean and cozy, with a hot shower, which you don’t find everywhere in Guatemala. There was free coffee in the morning too. Thank you so much!

We only stayed one night, and the basic but alright rooms worked fine for us. The beds were nice, and the shower was very hot. Breakfast was a highlight, the homemade bread was the best we’d had in weeks. The owner is friendly and the location is great. The downside was dog poo on the stairs inside the hotel, twice. They have a little dog in the house, which is fine, but nearly stepping in it and smelling it isn’t what you want in a hotel. The hallways could also be less messy. For us, and I think most guests, it was acceptable for a one-night stay.
