I found a bedbug on my first night at this hostel on New Year's Eve and quietly told the staff. I wasn't angry, since I know these things can happen and figured it came from another traveler. But after I asked, nobody offered me another bed. They acted as if it was nothing and told me I absolutely couldn't tell anyone. Two days later, just before my early flight, I found another bedbug. Only after I got angry did they offer a different room. It bothered me that they didn't properly treat it by cleaning the whole room, apparently because they didn't want anyone to know. I had to leave for my flight, so I didn't make a bigger fuss, but afterward I had to wash everything to get rid of the bugs. I later asked whether they could reimburse my laundry costs and got no response.

The hostel is beautiful and in a great location. The funday was fun, though quite different from what had been advertised. We also found the card payment surcharge extremely high compared with other places offering the same service, and the tour service staff weren't very helpful.

We didn't stay at the hostel, but joined the Yoga they organized and loved it. The class was excellent on a platform by the lake, a short boat ride away, and the swim afterward was gorgeous.

The beds were comfy, the rooms spacious, and I slept fine despite some road noise at night. Restaurant food was really tasty and reasonably priced. I enjoyed this hostel and would recommend it!

We didn't stay at the hostel, but booked its early bird Tikal tour leaving at 4am. When we asked about it at the desk, the person there seemed annoyed and was very unhelpful. We wanted to avoid a large group so we'd have a more structured visit and learn more about Tikal. She said there would be no more than 15 people. The next morning, we found a group of around 35. By then we'd paid, it was 4am, and pulling out was difficult. It was very disappointing and left us feeling scammed. The guide added basically no value, spoke about Tikal without interest, and talked as if having a one-to-one conversation to a group of 35. Completely useless. Save the money and go alone, or pay a little more for a genuinely informative tour that doesn't feel like a moving herd.
