Flores Hotel Boutique

The staff were friendly and really helpful with arranging a free cab to the airport. Ours was very late, so we cancelled and took a tuk tuk instead. One of the hotel staff waited with us the whole time to make sure we were okay, and even paid for the tuk tuk. If you need an airport cab, I’d ask for it at least 15 minutes before you need to leave. The hotel is in a perfect spot on the island, and our room was very large, with a separate living room and kitchen.

The rooms have a nice upper-class feel, and the people were pleasant, though the hotel is a little old and some tiles are breaking. My experience arranging things through them was horrible. I booked a guided tour with round-trip shuttle service, but there was no guide, and the promised return departure time to Flores didn’t exist. I had to pay extra for a private shuttle back. The tour cost 150, plus 50 for the return, with no guide, while the going rate was 100 or less. I also booked an 8 o’clock bus to Guatemala City, but when I arrived I was told it was actually at 9. I’d paid extra for the expensive seats, yet they’d reserved standard ones for me. It could have been a great experience given the nice rooms, but it was awful.

The room was spacious and clean, with a kitchen and living room too. It made for a really comfortable stay.

The suite was nice, but the noise was a problem. If you can't clean properly, you shouldn't be running a hotel.
