Casa Colibrí

I found this stay hugely disappointing, and honestly one of the worst Airbnb experiences I’ve had. The price is far too high for what you get. The rooms are shared with almost no privacy, poorly ventilated, and very uncomfortable in the heat. There’s no AC, and the only fan was for four people and wasn’t even available in every room. It was stifling trying to sleep. The shower temperature was badly calibrated, swinging between scalding and freezing, and was frustrating to adjust each time. There’s no sink in the kitchen, so making a decent meal and cleaning up afterward is nearly impossible. For an inflated price, there’s very little in return: poor ventilation, no privacy, few basic amenities, and a lot of discomfort. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend it, even as a budget option. Check the photos, description, and earlier reviews carefully before booking.

I chose this place because I had a very late or early return flight and didn’t want to stay long at my previous hotel in the city. The convenient location and very good price were enough reason to book it. It also gave me a chance to nap and shower before my long trip home. I was welcomed by the property manager, who knew I was checking in that day, and shown to room 4 on the ground floor. It was clean and made up, with a fresh towel, soap, and a shampoo sachet ready. I slept well in the queen-size bed and had a refreshing shower, though the water was only lukewarm. I actually prefer cold showers, so that was fine. The WiFi behaved oddly and dropped completely now and then, but it didn’t bother me much. I logged into my own Netflix account on the TV, and the manager offered to drive me to the airport at night. He said the roughly 10-minute walk is possible, but not advisable late at night. By car, we reached the departure hall in a few minutes. I booked Casa Colibri through Airbnb, and my Uber driver found it easily. It’s in a gated community, so you can’t just walk in, but the security staff were very nice during my short stay. I’m satisfied and would stay here again next time. Many thanks!
