The rooms are nice, the bathrooms clean and usable, and the service polite. But if you’re in a particular section, a bright hallway light shines through the glass panel above the door and right into your face until 11 p.m. The switch is right there in the hallway. I turned it off to sleep, and a staff member switched it back on within minutes. They said, “There are rules,” and that it needed to stay on because “there are some guests” outside. That rule took priority over my being able to sleep in a dark room, which is poor service. Ask for a room away from that light, or bring a very good sleep mask. It’s a shame such a simple issue mars an otherwise decent stay.

A good one-night option: the rooms were clean and nicely done, and the staff were great. They’re a little cramped for two people with bags, but we managed. The small, tucked-away hotel is right in the center, close to the markets and lots of shops. It’s also just a couple of blocks from a spectacular view over the sea and mountains.

The clerk was amazing. He let us leave our car there for a few extra hours after checkout, and when we realized we’d forgotten a tablet and water bottle, he returned them without any trouble. The rooms were very clean, though the inside of the toilet could use more cleaning. There was hot water and ceiling fans.

I enjoyed my one night here. It’s near the town center and about a five-minute walk from the waterfront, with good security at night and free water refills. Some of the plumbing was a little clunky.

The garden is pretty, the rooms are clean, and the staff are nice. Just hope your neighbors aren’t loud, because we could hear everything happening outside our room. Maybe staying on the second floor would help. I booked by phone as a local, hoping for a better deal, but didn’t get one. Worse, the next morning they said breakfast wasn’t included. When I insisted it had been offered on the call, they agreed to give us something to eat. It worked out fine for my trip, but booking and paying online is easier.
