We spent two nights at Loma de Atitlán and left feeling rested and grateful. The traditional Mayan massage was wonderfully relaxing, and our room was comfortable, with dependable hot showers and a quiet spot to sit and look out over the lake. The light changing over the water in the morning and evening was especially lovely. The sanctuary sits high above Tzununa, with spectacular views of Lake Atitlán. Yoga, nourishing meals, the sauna and pool, and the warm, attentive service all made it easy to unwind and recharge. It was a special retreat, and we’d recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful reset.

The group especially valued time spent sharing the land, food, culture, and wisdom of the Mayan people. We found a vibrant, resilient culture with deep ties to community and the earth, and much to teach us. I co-facilitated a yoga retreat for 20 people at Loma, and the team supported us from planning through our stay, including accommodations, transportation, and activities. The setting above Lake Atitlan and the volcanoes was breathtaking and peaceful. The yoga shala had gorgeous lake and volcano views and enough props for everyone. Staff were friendly and attentive, meals were fresh and nourishing, and the rooms and shared spaces were clean and inviting. The welcome and support from the people and the land made for a wonderful retreat.

The connections I made with the others on retreat deepened in a really profound way, and I hope I can return in this lifetime. Staying near sacred Lake Atitlán and learning about Mayan culture was powerful. The views were gorgeous, and the friendly, helpful staff made us delicious, nourishing food every day. I feel privileged to have spent this time at Loma de Atitlan. Thank you for creating such a supportive place.

I especially loved the private dock for morning swims and quiet time by the water. The movement classes and daily workouts left my body feeling more relaxed and stronger, and the fresh, healthy food was delicious. Local staff were so kind and welcoming. Loma de Atitlán feels like a family home, with a peaceful atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The lake and volcanoes are right in front of you, and the silence is hard to find elsewhere around Atitlán. San Marcos and Tzununá can have tuk-tuks, fireworks, and street noise, while this eco-friendly place feels like a quiet sanctuary surrounded by nature. I fully recommend it if you want beauty, rest, and space to reconnect with yourself.

I led a retreat at Loma in February '26 with 18 participants. Having hosted many retreats around the world, I found its customer satisfaction the highest so far. There’s room for quiet and solitude, guest rooms with wide views, a yoga shala stocked with the props you need, plus a lovely pool and sauna. The staff were attentive and went out of their way for guests, and the food was delicious and nourishing. Loma also helped arrange transportation, recommended companies for local eco-friendly excursions, and included a karma yoga activity through a social enterprise in Tzununa. It’s an ideal wellness retreat setting, and I can’t wait to return with more attendees.
