Hotel Casona del Lago

The biggest issue for me was getting around. I booked this place because it looked relaxing and had an elevator, since I’d hurt my knee during the trip. The elevator wasn’t working and looked like it hadn’t for a long time. There are steps all around the hotel and even in the rooms, so it’s a nightmare if you have any mobility trouble. When I contacted the hotel about the elevator, they replied, “As per the booking policy, mobility limitations are considered a personal circumstance and not caused by the property.” At $90 a night, I found it overpriced. The room and hotel shouldn’t cost more than $50. The room had no windows and opened onto a hallway people walked through. It was dark enough to need the lights on all the time, with an old, somewhat rusty bathroom and steps inside the room too. The restaurant has a nice view, but the food was mediocre and the service was awful. The online photos show that restaurant view, not a view from the rooms, which I found misleading. Breakfast was included but very basic and mediocre. The pool was decent, though small and mostly full of kids. The hot tub water was lukewarm. There wasn’t much to do nearby, and the location was really bad. There were no restaurants around except some fast food places.
