The staff need more customer service training and were very unprofessional. I had a bad experience there. They didn’t tell me the time, and then they sat around talking about a customer’s name. I was standing behind the cleaner, who didn’t realize I was there, and the woman at the front desk did the same.

For the low prices, people shouldn’t complain about the rooms. The overnight rooms are clean, tidy and updated, with nice amenities like air conditioning, a fan, a small fridge and a table. There are lots of short-term options for people who need a bit of relief. Keep up the good work, and thank you. Stay safe.

From outside, the hotel looks attractive, but inside was a different story. I was visiting the country for the first time on a business trip and needed somewhere to rest and freshen up for a few hours, so I booked a six-hour room for $8500 Guyana dollars. The woman who showed me the room took away the AC and TV remotes. Within seconds the TV stopped working, and the refrigerator didn’t work either. The bed had a sheet stuck to it, but no cover sheet or blanket. There was no washcloth in the bathroom, just one very old bath towel and a hand towel that had seen better days. When I wanted to leave my bag and get food around the corner, reception said I needed to pay a $1500 deposit for the keys. What had I paid $8500 for if not to get a private room? I wanted to relax and nap before my 12-hour flight, but there was nothing to cover myself with. I ended up catching a cold and getting sick. This isn’t what they keep posting on Facebook. The place is a shame for Guyana’s tourism, and I wouldn’t advise anyone to go there.

I work in the oil and gas sector and have a busy schedule, so it took me a while to write this. People should know what they’re getting into when they book here. To me, this is a brothel presenting itself as an “international hotel.” The website had grammatical errors, though it looked somewhat welcoming, so I booked an “International room.” At check-in, the fair-complexioned receptionist was having a lewd conversation with a male customer, who called her Tamika and refused to sanitize his hands or have his temperature checked. She gave me the room key and TV remote. When I asked for the AC remote, she said a floor remote controlled all the AC units on that floor. When I went to shower, the soap was about the size of a dime and didn’t meet what I’d expect from an international room. The bed had just one sheet, there was one towel, and there were no curtains. The rooms didn’t look like the website photos, and there was no microwave as promised. I went downstairs to ask about it, and the receptionist loudly told me in a demeaning, inhumane way that she was busy and I should come back when she had time. The hotel’s Wi-Fi was also having problems. When I asked, I was told it would be out all night, but none of this had been mentioned when I arrived. I couldn’t attend my important Zoom meetings and had to watch local TV channels I didn’t find entertaining. After getting through the night, I tried to check out quickly and politely asked for the three thousand dollar refund the receptionist had said guests would get back when they returned the key and TV remote. They don’t give you a receipt when handing over the key and remote, so if the person checking you in forgets you’re owed a refund, they can refuse it and you have no receipt to argue with. I’d used up my data and asked the receptionist to call a cab. She bluntly said the phone couldn’t call certain numbers and she couldn’t help. I walked to the bus stop and was robbed at gun point early in the morning. Passersby helped me after the incident, and I was able to get home. I’m still deeply traumatized by what happened. I later tried several times to contact the hotel manager or owner. I was told she had no set office hours and they couldn’t give out her cell number. They didn’t even ask for my number so she could contact me. Please avoid staying here if you can. This isn’t meant to stain or destroy the hotel’s reputation, but if you want a quality experience, stay elsewhere. THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE AND I AM ENTITLED TO SUCH.

The staff were nice, and being in the city centre is handy. A basic room cost 6500, with another 1500 requested as a deposit to keep the key. You get that money back when you return it. Guyana has limited hotel options and most are expensive, so the value isn't great, though that's the situation here.
