The Bel Air Hotel

The breakfast brought this down to three stars. It wasn't very good, and there was nowhere to sit and eat. The staff were nice and courteous, the room was clean, and both the air conditioning and shower's hot water worked really well. The sink splattered whenever you turned it on, so we had to move aside to avoid getting soaked. We also kept getting locked out of the safe and needed someone to unlock it. Fix the breakfast and those smaller issues, and it'd be a four-star stay.

I was in town for business and found the location convenient. The hotel is still under construction, but we were happy with our stay. The staff, especially at the front desk, provided service that left us extremely satisfied.

My parents had a great stay at Belair Hotel. Their traditional room was clean, the air conditioning kept it cool, and the bathroom was beautiful and spotless. The front desk team was super helpful throughout. Robin and Kajal were so helpful from the moment I called, and arranged an airport pickup with a taxi driver who was just as friendly and helpful. Customer service like that is incredibly hard to find in Guyana. My parents also wanted to thank Amit, Rachel, and Josiah specifically for being such thoughtful and helpful reception staff. 10/10, highly recommend.

I'm writing because my father's stay was so disappointing that I feel I should warn others. The room was cramped and very small, and it had a strong chemical smell that never went away. The water also stopped working at times, which is unacceptable at these rates. He asked for a fridge several times and didn't get one until several days later, near the end of his trip. Every shower flooded the bathroom floor, leaving a constant mess. Between the poor service, uncomfortable room, and basic amenities that didn't work, this was one of the worst hotel experiences anyone could have. I wouldn't recommend it.
