Julian Guest House

The best part of Georgetown for me was Julian. He’s a funny, kind and really helpful guy. He gave me tips for my stay, kept my things for me and arranged an airport trip for less than 10 usd instead of 50. Julian’s is affordable for Georgetown, clean by Georgetown standards and well located. There’s also an upstairs bar with an open view where you can sit and pass the time until you can finally leave Georgetown, which should be your main concern. I’ll never come back, but thanks for everything.

Julian was great to deal with. I’d booked the wrong dates, weeks away from when I was meant to arrive, but Mr Julian still accommodated me. Julian’s is handy for the city, with well-kept rooms and a bar all under one roof.

The man was rude and wouldn’t help with information about the city. It’s hard to find the hotel, but that wasn’t my main issue. Breakfast was advertised, but there wasn’t any. During my five-day stay, the room was cleaned only once, at the start, and the sheets were never changed. The code for the main doors didn’t always work, leaving people waiting outside for hours or stuck in the hallways. There were no news or regular TV channels, only YouTube, which often didn’t work.

Honestly, this was the worst and most uncomfortable hotel we’ve ever stayed at. For $10,000, all we got was a bed and a tiny washroom. The AC barely cooled the room, and when I switched on the fan, one of its blades fell out. There were rats and roaches too, so we were gone before morning light. Never again.
