Disney Explorers Lodge

Housekeeping was the standout. When my wife had an emergency and there were no nearby stores, she used the QR code to ask for a tampon. The staff brought several, along with pads in an envelope, offered to clean the room, and gave us extra coupons. That was going above and beyond. The rest was disorganized. Check-in took forever and the staff seemed overwhelmed. The hotel is huge, but signs are limited, so it wasn't clear which buses were inbound or outbound, and nobody was around to help. Baggage handling was the worst: a bag delivery that should have taken an hour, and when we returned from the park, our bags still hadn't arrived, so I had to walk back to the baggage area. The lobby was a nightmare too. My wife sat while we waited for a taxi, and when I got up to use the restroom, someone took my stuff. Thin walls and inconsiderate guests made for more noise, with kids running around, screaming, and banging on doors. We picked this hotel thinking the price might keep certain crowds away, but it didn't. It reminded me of Aulani, minus the friendly staff. Disney prides itself on excellent, effortless service, and this hotel didn't meet that standard apart from housekeeping.

The Disney theming really brings the whole IP together. I liked the lobby, grounds, and front area, and found the hotel much more approachable, especially for families with kids. It felt like something I'd expect at a Disney World property. I wish we'd stayed at the Explorer hotel instead of the Disneyland hotel. The Disneyland hotel is lovely, but it feels more reserved and old-fashioned. I'd recommend this place to families or anyone who likes the Disney IP. It's a great place to visit.

We stayed three nights in two connecting rooms. They were both clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and helpful. Toiletries are sold as disposables for HK40, though we didn't need them since we brought our own. The kids enjoyed the playroom, which requires adult supervision, and there were other activities for them too. It's very child-friendly. The food was tasty and good quality, though hotel prices were a bit high. There aren't bathtubs, but we didn't miss them. The shuttle to and from the park was convenient, and the designated park entrance for hotel guests was a great perk.

Arashi was our manager and was available around the clock. She helped us with bookings and information, and made every part of the stay feel special. Our VIP room suite felt like a Disney adventure, and we ate in the room most of the time because it was set up so well for that. It was Christmas and my birthday, and the hotel went out of its way to make us feel special. My family and I will never forget it, and we can't wait to return. Thank you, Hong Kong Disneyland, for making the trip so memorable. I asked employees in every role, from drivers and reception to management, food managers, and waitstaff, how they liked working there. They all said they enjoyed their jobs, and many had worked there for over ten years. It really showed me that the hotel takes care of its staff.
