Eco Tree Hotel

We liked the room: it wasn't small, had a nice layout, and enough space for our luggage. It was clean and bright when we arrived, and we could even see a bit of the sea from the window. The bed was comfortable, with two pillows each, the water pressure was good, and the hot water was excellent. There were only a few rooms on each floor, so noise wasn't a problem. The TV had enough channels, though we weren't planning to watch much. The lobby, on the seventh floor, has a small, comfy waiting area, but might feel cramped when crowded. We arrived early and the receptionist let us go to our room before check-in time, a nice touch. You can get free daily water from the dispenser in the lobby. Amenities were as expected, and there's room to store luggage. The hotel is handy for transport, with the MTR below and the dingding tram right outside. You can take the tram to explore the island, even without crossing over. Restaurants and cafes are plentiful, plus a 7-Eleven across the road for snacks. Mornings get busy when shops open, and the dried seafood smell, famous around Sheung Wan and Sai Ying Pun, is hard to miss. At night the road gets quiet as most shops close, though people still pass by, so we didn't feel worried. We'd never stayed in this area before and decided to try it. The hotel is actually closer to Sai Ying Pun (SYP) than Sheung Wan (SW). From the SYP MTR, you can walk to Exit B1, right next to the hotel. We didn't love that the entrance is on a side road rather than the main road, even though it's for safety. There's a guard by the elevator, but... Hong Kong feels quite safe, so we weren't too concerned. A nice place for anyone who isn't the fussy 5-star dweller type.
