Rambler Garden Hotel

The biggest plus is being closer to Disneyland and Lantau Island than you'd be in the city. It's a decent budget option, though a bit removed from Central and Tsim Sha Tsui, so expect travel time if those are your main destinations. The rooms and bathrooms are very small, typical for Hong Kong, and large luggage could make a short stay feel cramped. Food choices nearby are limited. There's a Café de Coral on the ground floor for a convenient breakfast and a 7-Eleven in the same tower. A bus stop about 400 meters away connects to the main city areas, and the 88F green minibus runs often to Tsing Yi for the MTR. Good value if you're okay with the small room and staying outside the center.

It's peaceful and quiet here, and the staff are friendly. Getting to the airport is fairly easy, with A32 and NA32 taking 30-40 minutes each way. On level 1 there are places to eat, including 7/11, cafe de coral and a local eatery. The wifi could be better, but I'd still like to stay again. Good value for money.

I've stayed here a few times because the location near the airport works well for me. The staff have been friendly each time, and Erin & Sam were helpful. Reception can lend you an adaptor if you leave a deposit. There's also a small shopping mall in the same building, which is convenient for us.

The only thing I liked was the decent view of the port. I spent five nights here as a tourist and wouldn't recommend it. The room was tiny and poorly equipped, with a broken fridge and lighting, a nonworking phone, and no heater for winter. The hotel is far from major attractions, doesn't provide airport transport, and has no cafe or restaurant. To reach attractions, you need a bus to the metro, since cabs are expensive. Staff weren't welcoming and had difficulty communicating in English. I wouldn't recommend Tsing Yi as a base for tourists; look for somewhere more central.
