Regala Skycity Hotel

I faced the Marriott from my window, so there wasn't a view, but the room was very quiet, with no airplane noise at all. That's a nice surprise at an airport hotel. There's little at ground level around the hotel. On site, there's a breakfast restaurant and vending machines for snacks, cookies, and soft drinks. For more choices, walk to the nearby shopping area or AsiaWorld-Expo. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and practical for airport stays or nearby events. I took an early check-in offer for a twin room instead of waiting until the standard 3:00 PM time. The room was compact, and the extra bed took up space, so if you're alone it can become a luggage spot. The bathroom and shower are separate, while the sink is in the room. There were two large and two small towels, plus toiletries including toothbrushes, cotton pads, and cotton swabs. Everything was clean and well maintained. It's very close to Hong Kong International Airport, with a shuttle service to and from the airport. The room was small but functional, and everything worked well. I'd give it 5 stars for convenience and functionality.

For a 22-hour layover, this was a great pick. The hotel sits right by the airport and the room, while not large, was comfortable and just right for a short stay. It was clean and well maintained, with the toilet and shower in separate spaces. A free shuttle bus 🚌 runs to the airport and Tung Chung Station, making it easy to get around. You can also walk to AsiaWorld-Expo Station and take the Airport Express directly to Hong Kong Island.

Kevin at the concierge arranged a couple of extra hours for me past checkout when I asked. The breakfast buffet was good, with a live noodle station, and the entrance was impressive. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and really convenient. If you need a place to stay, it's about as easy as it gets.

There's not much within walking distance, and the new big purple mall, 11 Skies, still hasn't opened. It's not clear when it will. That said, for an overnight layover at HKG, this is a great place to spend the night. The hotel looks new and is well maintained. Rooms are somewhat small but designed well, and the price I got was good for somewhere so close to a major airport. There's a free shuttle to the airport and Tung Chung, the nearest town on this airport island, where there's a shopping mall and tourist attractions.
