Service was superb, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The French press was a nice detail, though the shampoo and soap combo didn’t feel five-star. The location is tremendous for exploring Kowloon, with direct access to Langham Mall and, through it, the MTR. A couple of design issues kept it from a perfect stay. There’s no direct fan control in the bathroom; it looks like fans may have been removed, and there’s now a portable air cleaner in the room. The glass wall between the sleeping area and bathroom looks nice but isn’t great for noise or privacy. The curtain didn’t close fully, with the last 3-4 inches dropping down, so I had to pull it back a little for full coverage. The ceiling plaster work was sloppy too, possibly where the fan had been. Those comfort issues mattered more to me than things like a wine room or rooftop pool. Still, easily one of the best options in Kowloon.

The room was on the small side, but that didn’t bother us. It was very clean, and the staff were kind, especially our housekeeper, who kept bringing drinking water and was lovely with our child. The toilet was large, though there was no bidet. The shampoo and body wash smelled so good I almost wanted to take them home. The location was convenient, with a bridge connecting the hotel to a mall.

From the moment we checked in at Cordis, Hong Kong, we felt we had made the right choice. The service, atmosphere, and care for guests were outstanding. Babylyn at reception welcomed us so warmly, answered our questions, and made check-in easy. She went out of her way to arrange a room on a floor that suited us and gave us a lovely window view. This is our first visit to Hong Kong, and the trip means a lot because our daughter Alexandra turns 10 the day after tomorrow. Babylyn’s kindness and warm words to our child touched us as parents and made the start of our holiday feel special. The hotel itself impressed us with clean rooms, comfort, and professional staff. The location is extremely convenient, with a Starbucks sign, Food Street, supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and other essentials right outside reception. It gave us that Hong Kong feeling as soon as we stepped out. We’re sure celebrating Alexandra’s 10th birthday in this setting will be a happy family memory. We recommend the hotel for its hospitality, helpful service, and location.

For a rate of about $3500HKD per night for a two-bedroom family room, I expected more from the advertised five-star hotel. The rooms were a reasonable size, with good views from the higher floor, and the beds and linens were reasonably comfortable. But the furniture felt old, and the bathrooms were awkward, with glass basins and countertops that were too small to be practical. The toiletries came in a cardboard box because there was nowhere to store them. Breakfast had a solid selection and was pretty good, though service for coffee orders and similar requests was poor. Check-in and checkout were the biggest letdown: nobody helped with luggage on arrival, so we opened the door ourselves, held it while bringing everything in, then wheeled it upstairs to the desk and on to the room. That didn’t feel like five-star service. The hotel is dated and tired, and small kids’ packs plus a decent breakfast don’t make up for it. There are better places to stay.

The staff made our parents’ wedding anniversary celebration especially memorable. When I mentioned it at check-in, the front desk surprised them with a complimentary mini cake and a bottle of wine in the room. It was a thoughtful gesture, and everyone was warm and attentive. We stayed two nights at Cordis Hong Kong, right in central Mong Kok. It connects directly to Langham Place shopping mall, with a food court for quick meals, and Mong Kok MTR station and bus stops are only steps away. Getting around was easy, and we rarely needed taxis. We also had a wonderful meal at Ming Court, the hotel’s Chinese restaurant. It used to have a Michelin one-star rating, and the food lived up to that level. The soups were a highlight. This is a refined, multi-course meal rather than a quick Cantonese stop, so allow a couple of hours to enjoy it. The hotel combines comfort, convenience, and genuine hospitality. We’d happily return.
