Casa Hotel

The room could use an update. It smelled odd and the carpet was dirty, though housekeeping did a good job. The sheets were clean and white, and after four nights we didn’t find any bed bugs, so I guess that was all okay. The location was amazing, just a minute from the MRT, with plenty of food nearby even after midnight, including MCD across the street. The airport bus stop is right in front too.

The convenient location was the one good thing about this stay. The room was tiny, and the whole floor smelled strongly of cigarettes and dampness. It didn’t feel clean or comfortable, and for what I paid, I was disappointed.

I knew this was going to be a bad stay as soon as I walked in. There were five steps before the elevator with two suitcases to carry, and the front man/security sat watching CCTV and ignored me. I spoke to him in Cantonese to say I was there to check in, but he still acted like I wasn’t there. A sign eventually told me check-in was on the first floor. I paid extra for a larger deluxe room, but it was smelly, damp, dark, and run down. I couldn’t tell if the air conditioning worked. The toilet exhaust fan rattled, and I killed four little black bugs during my three nights, including one that crawled onto the bed. At least they weren’t bed bugs. The staff made the place noisy while cleaning, shouting curses at each other across the corridor. There didn’t seem to be any concern for the atmosphere. I wouldn’t stay here again even for free.

The location couldn’t be better, right beside the train station, and the place was very clean. The room was small, especially the narrow bathroom, and sometimes the elevator took a while to show up.
