Fortunate Guest House

I won't book here again. We already had a prepaid reservation through a third-party provider, then added another room because the first one felt too crowded. Reception demanded an extra HK$120, saying it was the hotel's discretion for a late booking, though we'd booked already. He wouldn't hand over the key even after I paid, and I never got a clear reason for the charge. The staff were rude, and I felt uneasy staying there. They should respect a customer's choice to pay through another provider instead of insisting on their preferred arrangement. I can't recommend this place or its service.

We left to find somewhere else because the room was nothing like the larger one we booked on Agoda. It was cramped, and the bathroom smelled bad, had water spilling across the floor, and was so tiny that showering got the sink and toilet wet. This place felt like a scam to us. Don't stay here.

The wait for the elevator was long, though that's the building's issue rather than the hotel's. Once upstairs, the room was small but clean and tidy, fair for what we paid. The staff were friendly and the service was very good. Kevin was the person to find for questions or help. Tsim Sha Tsui station is about a minute away on foot, with lots of establishments around the building. It's the cheapest hotel I could find in the area, and I had a good stay. I'd book again if I return to Hong Kong.

The staff are really nice, and the place is clean, with free Wi-Fi, a mini fridge, and a hot and cold water dispenser in the hall. Just don't put two people in a single-bed room, those are only good for solo travelers. The rooms with two smaller beds looked like a better fit.
