The location is hard to beat, about a one-minute walk from Sheung Wan MTR station, with 7-Eleven and lots of food options close by. Pretty much everything we needed was within walking distance. There’s an elevator for luggage, plus a microwave and water dispenser downstairs. The staff at reception were polite and helpful. We arrived around noon, and they kept our bags safely until check-in. Inside, the room felt fresh and comfortable, almost like home, despite the plain exterior. It was clean and had no unpleasant smell. The wooden-style flooring seemed much fresher than carpet in hotels that hold onto dust and odours, and the road-facing window helped with ventilation. The room wasn’t huge, but the layout gave us enough space to open a large suitcase. The king bed was comfortable, the air-conditioning was strong, and the bathroom was clean with steady hot and cold water. There was tea, coffee, and a kettle in the room. I didn’t expect free bottled water, since even many five-star hotels in Hong Kong don’t provide it. For a modest-looking hotel, it was excellent value for cleanliness, service, and location. I’d stay again.

For one night under HKD400, the cramped setup was tolerable. There was no fridge in the room or water station, though a 7-11 is around the corner. Hot water came and went, and seemed to sync up with the TV reception. It’s beside Fu Wah cafe, and the orange sign is noticeable at the narrow entrance. Sheung Wan MTR is nearby, but it has no lift for travellers with bags, so you have to struggle up the stairs to a tight road junction among old office buildings. This place wasn’t built as a hotel. The rooms are made with poorly built partitions, and the windowless toilets have bad ventilation and possible fire hazards. Compared with iClub, the renovation looked slapdash, and the rooms showed a lot of wear and badly need a makeover.

Staff were nice and very helpful, and the location is excellent, about a two-minute walk to the tram and MTR Sheung Wan Stn. The room is a little small, so I’d recommend getting one with a balcony for more space.

The staff were welcoming and check-in went smoothly. The area is quiet at night, there’s a 7-Eleven close by, and the MTR station is nearby too. If you’re watching your budget, it’s worth considering. Just remember there’s an extra tourist tax. The room needed some work. The wallpaper was coming away from the wall, and some switches didn’t work even though they supplied a portable socket. Luckily, the wall plug did work, so charging my devices was fine.
