The pool and slides were fun, and they're a nice plus if you're traveling with kids. The beachfront setting was comfortable too. I used to visit Tela's beaches as a girl, but hadn't been back in over 10 years until last week. We stayed at telemar during low season, and for what we paid, the service didn't feel worth it. The restaurant food wasn't good, so I'd suggest bringing your own or eating somewhere else. We asked around 10am for the umbrellas and chairs that were meant to be set up at 7am, but they weren't ready until after we'd left the beach and ocean. The bathroom could use some updates, including the chipping mirrors. Next time I might try one of the casitas.

The staff are clearly doing their best to keep the property in good shape. Keep your expectations in check and you can enjoy the beach, relax by the pool, or walk along the shore to the little plaza at the end, where there are small restaurants and some tourist shops.

The resort could make more of Honduras's culture, with things like Punta dancing or stories about the country's history. It's in a beautiful setting and has a chance to show visitors more of the local heritage. There's also room to improve the food selection, and L489 for a basic breakfast feels steep when similar meals elsewhere cost around L200. It's a good place to spend time with family, but it needs more activities for different ages and further development to draw more international visitors.

The garden view from our room was lovely, green and quiet, and having coffee on the terrace in the morning was a treat. The grounds were well kept, the pools were fun, the beach was easy to get to, and resort staff helped set out chairs there. There was even a place to rinse sandy feet on the way back. Security was around the resort and beach. For the price we paid, it was a good stay, though the place is dated and some chalets looked more worn than others. It seemed they were trying to freshen them up with paint. Samuel at the front desk was fantastic, and the guards were stern but friendly. We stayed three nights in rooms near the pool. The resort offers a choice about daily housekeeping at check in, and we requested it, but it didn't happen until day two. There are no phones in the rooms, so we had to go to the front desk in another building for towels. We were four people and had only three towels. The desk said housekeeping would bring another, but that didn't happen. Luckily, we found a housekeeper in the building, and she kindly helped us. The rooms being old didn't bother me as much as the musty duvet cover, which I couldn't use, so I slept with just the top sheet over me. One bed near the toilet had a worn spring and felt like I might slide out while sleeping. The bathtub drained slowly, which got awkward with four people showering one after another. The beds were comfortable enough. The pillows were too firm and high for back sleepers, though good if you sleep on your side, and we had one each. The air conditioning worked well but was loud enough that we had to turn up the TV. I appreciated the refrigerator, coffee setup, hairdryer, and safe. The slide and water activities were adequate. We didn't eat at the restaurant because we wanted to try food off the resort.

Friendly people and a nice spot. The food was good.
