The room was simple, but really comfortable, and the bathroom was nice. The grounds are incredible, even more impressive in person than in the photos. I’d especially recommend it if you like quirky art or unusual places.

We only came to see the art, not to stay at the hotel. Many pieces were cracked, falling apart, or clearly in need of repair, so the beach would’ve been a better use of our time. The owner’s welcome was nonexistent. He was rude and very unwelcoming, then insisted we pay more even though the price was clearly posted on the front gate. Later, I saw him mistreating the cats on the property. Why open a place to visitors if you don’t want to deal with people? What you see here isn’t worth dealing with such a negative personality.
Finding it can be a little tricky because the entrance from the street is kind of hidden. Once inside, though, you’re in a magical, imaginative tropical hideaway, somewhere between Swiss Family Robinson and an elvish sculpture garden. I can’t recommend it enough.
The gardens were amazing, and the 50 lempira entrance price was clearly posted on a sign. We thought it was totally worth it. I had a lovely long chat with the artist-owner and highly recommend a visit. We would have stayed longer, but were dying of thirst and the bar was shut for renovations.
We left with the scariest experience of our trip. The place had a really interesting atmosphere, almost like a museum, and we were curious to look around. The entrance fee itself wasn’t the issue. We just didn’t see a sign saying you had to pay to step inside. The owner, or whoever was in charge, didn’t greet us. He yelled in our faces that entry cost 50 lempiras, then insulted and threatened us and followed us toward the exit in a rage. I don’t know what was going on with him, but he seemed completely out of control over nothing. Mental illness is a hard thing to say, but I think this person needs help. Please be careful. I’d give zero stars if Google allowed it 🤷🏽♀️
