The apartment was fabulous, and the hosts were fantastic. They arranged our airport transfers, and the location just outside Pile Gate was great, with plenty of places to eat and drink and walks nearby. The beach was very close too. We had amazing views from the windows and the roomy balcony, and the wifi worked well.
The views from this elevated spot beside Gradac Park were a real highlight, with the Fort and sea in sight. It's breezy, quiet, and a lovely place to catch sunset. The building itself is beautiful and sits within the UNESCO site boundary. From here it's a five-minute walk, uphill, to Pile Gate and the Old Town. Good burek, restaurants, a supermarket, and souvenir shops are also easy to reach on foot. We rented both the room and apartment for four adults. The space shown as a room would have worked better as a living room, since the kitchen ended up being our only shared indoor area and felt cramped. The deck could give you more room if mosquitoes aren't a concern. The kitchen had the basics, including instant coffee, tea, and sugar. There was a coffee maker and paper filters, but bring your own ground coffee if you want a fresh brew. We found lattes and cappuccinos in both Hungary and Croatia a little weak, so preferred making ours. Washing and drying dishes was all by hand, and drying took ages without a rack. The bathroom had plenty of hooks and bars for towels, and the shower was hot, though its stall felt tight for taller or bigger people. There was a wardrobe and enough hangers in the bedroom. The owners were attentive, responsive, and responsible. We took their airport ride despite the tighter luggage space, and managed with four adults, four checked bags, and carry-ons. We trusted Livio to be there at 3:15 am, though it turned out there was no need. Our 6:15 am flight to Zagreb was an exception to the online advice to arrive two hours early: the airport doors and lights didn't come on until 4 am, and staff didn't appear until 5. Around 20 of us waited outside, then queued inside for half an hour before anyone came to the counter. Don't bring a car, since parking near the Old Town is expensive and the town itself is for foot traffic only.
The apartment was clean and only a five-minute walk from the sights and a couple of nice swimming spots. It's near the old city but tucked into a quieter local neighborhood. A good place to stay when visiting Dubrovnik.
The room was lovely and very clean, and I liked the view from the window. The hosts were fantastic, and the location couldn't be better.
Great facilities in a lovely room, in a really handy location.
