The room was simple and clean, with a comfy bed, a couch, and a small kitchenette with a fridge, sink, and flat top for cooking. We only used the sink. The bathroom was clean and had enough towels for our short stay, and the air conditioning was fantastic during the heatwave in Dubrovnik. The front door stayed locked throughout our visit, and our unit neighbors were mindful about it. The owner treated us very well. We called the number on the door when we arrived, and she called back within a couple of minutes with the lockbox combination. She also let us leave our luggage in the unit after checkout, since we had until 1pm to explore the city before going to the airport. She asked us to be done using the unit by the 10am checkout so the cleaners could get it ready for the next guest. That was a huge help. We booked through Capital One travel and paid just one extra fee, a 6.10 Euro service charge to leave in cash when we departed. The fees were clear and straightforward. I’d been REALLY nervous because of the negative reviews, especially with departure only two weeks away, but I’m glad I went ahead. I’m still not sure those reviews were about the same place. There were A LOT of stairs up the street when we arrived. Many places to stay in old town involve flights of stairs, and we only found out afterwards that porter companies can help carry bags in and out of old town. Fellow travelers staying in the first-floor unit said the host/owner had connected them with a company. If you’re hesitant to book, check reviews for this property on other travel and hotel websites too.
