That was a terrible experience, easily one of the lowest-quality places I've stayed during more than 3 months of traveling around Europe. The room was extremely cramped, with so little floor space that we couldn't even open our luggage properly. The house felt very old, and the walls blocked no sound at all. We could hear exactly what people in the other rooms were saying, which was extremely distressing at night. There were 3 rooms, probably for 6 people, sharing just one bathroom. At busy times in the morning and evening, we had to wait our turn. The bathroom was also high up, reached by steep stairs. The location was good, but getting there meant carrying our bags up a tremendously steep flight of stairs, with no elevator. Terrible, terrible experience.

The room was small but clean and had what we needed, including a hair dryer. Manda was a kind lady and did her best to help us. You do have to climb about 4 flights of stairs to get to the property, but that wasn't an issue for us. The location is great for getting around on foot. Can't ask for more.

Coming back meant facing the stairs again, and we dreaded that climb. But the whole city is laid out that way, so be ready for hikes wherever you go unless you're paying extra for a 5 Star hotel. We still had a good time. The owner was very kind and gave us cookies, cakes and juice whenever we returned. Coffee and tea were free too.

The veranda has a stunning view over the city, and the room was fine with air conditioning. It was up a steep set of stairs off a busy main road, though, and the window was so high that there was no view from the room. We had separate beds and hadn't realized the bathroom was shared. There was also a small shared fridge for 3 rooms, already full when we arrived. There's no cutlery, crockery, or anything to cook with, which was tough since eating out in the city is expensive. I asked the lady looking after the place for a plate and knife one evening. She was nice, though she couldn't speak English; we managed to understand each other well enough. All in all, it was okay, neither great nor terrible.

A tidy little room with air conditioning and windows that kept out sound well. It's a short way to the old town and Beach Sulic for swimming. The lady of the house was kind and helpful, and the terrace has a great view.
