Valamar Argosy Hotel

The changing rooms and toilets in the spa wellness centre need attention. Though the area is beautiful, clean, and high quality overall, we saw broken walls, faulty locks, stained seats and walls, dirty ceiling fans, and rust on some metal fittings. The lockers were fine, but the changing rooms could use a full update to match the rest of the hotel. Elsewhere, everything was spotless and maintained to a very high standard. We got a real “wow” impression on arrival. There’s a shop, elegant lounge areas, and two stunning infinity pools with breathtaking views. The restaurants served excellent food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with good variety and quality. The team were fantastic and clearly take pride in their work. Thanks as well for the thoughtful birthday gesture. I couldn’t accept it for personal reasons, but I appreciated it deeply. We loved our stay even more than the hotel in Split, and we’ll definitely come back. I highly recommend it.

We had a lovely week at Valamar Argosy, and felt the price matched the quality well. It’s a secluded, peaceful location with beautiful sunsets, though far from Dubrovnik’s main attractions. There’s a bus stop right outside, with a direct ride to the Old Town. The hotel has lots of amenities and the food at its different restaurants was good. Our main issue was the buffet restaurant’s hours. It serves breakfast and dinner, but breakfast ends at 10 am and dinner at 9 pm. That felt early, especially since there’s no lunch service there. On holiday, we like to sleep in, and the breakfast cutoff made things feel rushed. At night, 9 pm also seemed early when the evening is just getting going. Maybe it’s because the hotel has an older clientele? If you eat later, there are restaurants nearby outside the hotel.

The staff were really kind and helpful, and I enjoyed the outdoor area. The room and facilities were a different story for what we paid, €250 a night. It felt dated, with no free water or slippers, and the TV couldn't run modern apps or streaming. Those things made the stay less comfortable. At this price, I expected more up-to-date amenities from a 4-star hotel. The people were great, but the value and facilities didn't match the rate. Thanks for taking the time to read this feedback.

We loved the pools, and the bus into town was fairly regular and cost €2.50. We could also use our key card at the nearby President Hotel to take the lift down to the beach. Our room was lovely, with really high ceilings. Had an amazing stay!
