Vicina Summer Apartments

We booked this place months ahead, then eight weeks before our stay Opodo told us they couldn't accommodate the reservation because of overbooking. By then there were fewer places available and prices had risen. It feels like they sold our room to someone else for more money. Avoid if you need somewhere to stay!

The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, and there's a lovely garden as part of the accommodation. After about four nights, I really wished I could stay longer. This is a proper Dubrovnik place to stay, rather than a high-end hotel. It's conveniently close to the old town, with a bakery within walking distance and a market nearby. There's a very friendly cat too. Wishing the owner all the best.

The family who own the complex were very friendly and helpful, happy to chat but never intrusive. They left a substantial welcome pack with useful information about things to do and important details. The apartment was spotless, with large, well-equipped rooms on the ground floor, plus a patio with views of the sea and city walls. It's one of five apartments in the complex. We cooked there every day because the kitchen was so well equipped, and the shower was the best I've had on holiday, hot, spacious, and powerful. TV and Wi-Fi were included. Shops nearby were reasonably priced, and there's a bus route on the one-way street. It's around a seven-minute walk to Dubrovnik city walls. The apartment is up several steps, and Dubrovnik itself is hilly, with plenty of steps and slopes, so bear that in mind.

Vanya and her family are so kind, and the house is amazing. It was our favorite place in Croatia. She was always there to help with a smile and gave us great suggestions, and the location is incredible. We really recommend staying here and hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Thank you!
