Villas Rubin Resort Residence - Rovinj

What bothered me most was how little was done to follow up on my lost property report. I stayed at Villa Rubin in Room 266 from June 4th to June 5th, and left behind a black Panasonic electric toothbrush worth about CHF 250. I reported it at reception on June 6th and was told they’d look into it and contact me. When I came back roughly three hours later, nobody knew who I was, which room I’d been in, or what I’d reported missing. I had to start the whole explanation over, and again they said someone would get back to me. They hadn’t even taken my room number or phone number, so there was no way to follow up. I know lost items aren’t always recovered. Still, the lack of record keeping, communication, and professionalism left me very disappointed. I expected better customer service from a hotel of this standard.

The food was divine, and the restaurant waiters and receptionists were so friendly. The room was clean and smelled fresh when we arrived. Big thanks to the hardworking cleaning team for keeping the resort tidy, and excellent service all around.

We loved the location, the grounds, and the beaches, and also enjoyed the pool and beach volleyball. It was nice having the sheets and towels changed every few days. The water slide rule was a real disappointment for our 6 and 9 year olds, though. If children can’t ride alone, they could at least be allowed on their parents’ laps, as they are in many places. There were a few things that need work. The bathroom in our “premium for 4” house seemed clean, but had a horrible smell much of the time, even worse with the fan running. The kitchen was sparsely equipped: a sponge would have helped, and the knives were dull and not enough. The buffet also lacked variety, with the same fruit every day.

The park was clean, well cared for, and had what we needed for a relaxing holiday. We especially liked the spacious, comfortable apartment for four, with its lovely sea view, just as we’d requested. On the first evening we ran into a small problem, but reception sorted it out quickly and professionally. We really enjoyed our stay at Maistra Select Villa Resort Robin. It’s a beautiful place in a peaceful setting, with a wonderful location and excellent service. We’d happily recommend it.
