Lela is welcoming and gave me all the tourist information I needed. The problem was the apartment. There are several at the same address, and I was assigned a different studio from the one I booked. It was semi-underground rather than on the ground floor, very dark, cramped, and had a low ceiling. The only ventilation was through small openings at alley level. After a day of sightseeing, there wasn't really anywhere comfortable to relax, just very upright wooden chairs or the bed in that dark room. The narrow, steep alley in the old town wasn't mentioned in the description. The value felt very poor, especially with Split's high prices, which I found much higher than Dubrovnik's. I felt cheated. My first issue was parking. I was offered the option to cancel, but the booking amount had already been charged for 10 days, and refunds aren't handled directly by the owner. I was given the semi-underground apartment right away, without a choice or being shown the one in the photo. I wasn't angry with Split, I was upset about the parking problem and not being told about it. The listing should warn about the serious parking difficulties and narrow old-town streets. If I'd known, I wouldn't have booked this place. In Dubrovnik, I knew parking would be difficult. Since June 25th, when I entered Slovenia, this was the first problem of this kind I'd had.

The landlord was friendly and helpful, and the place was clean, with enough towels and everything needed in the kitchen. Sheets and towels could be changed whenever requested, and other help was available too. It was peaceful and quiet despite being close to the center. There was air conditioning and heating in the bathroom.

Lela gave us great service again. The apartment is good value and sits right in the center, within a short walk of the market, shops, beach, bus station and harbor. Highly recommend it.
