The room was cramped and felt claustrophobic, and the bunks were so small and low that I couldn't sit upright on the lower one. The AC rattled and coughed all night. I did like having an ensuite bathroom, though I never got to try the shower, so can't say how it was. Check-in was basically a staff member following me to the desk and watching me take the key with my name on it. Nobody was at the desk when I checked out at 8:30am. Staff sat outside drinking and smoking through the night and gave me dirty looks as I came and went. Getting to town was easy enough to navigate, but it's a solid 35-minute walk. It was cheap and convenient for a single night, though the atmosphere wasn't friendly and it wasn't a stay I enjoyed much.

This was the worst hostel we've stayed in over many years of travelling. The host was hardly ever there, and the cleaning was rarely done, and never properly. There weren't any proper bed sheets, the beds were far too low and we kept banging our heads. For an eight-person room, there were only three appliances. There were no conveniences like a kitchen or reliable WiFi.

The host was lovely and even did our washing for €10, which was great. The rooms were fine, but the bathroom wasn't cleaned while we were there, and a towel soaked in urine stank up the whole room. We booked late, and this was literally the only place we could find in Split for under €800 a night. Regrettably, that was the situation.

The location worked really well for us, with Lidl just up the road, the water not too far away, and plenty of buses nearby that go straight into town. The room was lovely and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The bathroom was great too. Bedside lamps would have been a nice addition, but it wasn't a big deal during our stay.

We hadn't realized the Ultra Europe festival was happening in Split, so every hostel was full. The very friendly woman at the desk helped us find somewhere to sleep. Thanks so much for the help and great service!
