Old Center Stone House

We had a nice stay in Split, but the host’s communication was awful. Once you’ve paid, it feels like you don’t matter anymore. Good luck, anja. At first glance the apartment looked clean and nice, but closer up it wasn’t. There were condom packs under the bed dated 07/2024, a dirty pillowcase and towels, empty beer bottles, and milk left in the fridge by previous visitors. We usually don’t mind cleaning things up, but when we told the host, she turned it around and sent a huge message accusing us of things like making too much noise at night and leaving the apartment unattended with the door open. We didn’t do that. We leave our valuables there and don’t want them stolen. The apartment is right beside a pub that closes at midnight, so the noise could more plausibly have come from there. The host also said we played loud music, which was strange because we didn’t play any music at all. The pub had good music, so we didn’t need to. On several nights, drunk pub guests sat on our stairs. One nearly threw up, and another tried to get in during the night and woke us up. We’re fine discussing things when they’re true, but these claims weren’t. There’s also a camera by the door that can watch you 24/7. I don’t know what she thinks she saw, but she could have asked instead of assuming.

It’s a lovely little apartment tucked into a quiet alley in the old town, with bars and restaurants all around. The port is an easy walk away.

Small and tastefully done, with a superb location.

Everything was clean and well maintained, and it’s perfectly placed for getting to all the sights.
