Villa Lamarre VII

The private beach and pool were fantastic, and the staff there were friendly. Breakfast was good too. Still, I wouldn't stay here again after this trip. We paid $900 for the week, and the lack of comfort really ruined the experience. The hotel is beautiful, with friendly staff and security, but the value just wasn't there. The biggest problem was the air conditioning. I booked because AC was listed, but no one said they controlled when it was on and off. They shut it off around 4-5am, so I kept waking up drenched in sweat and asking them to turn it back on. We asked for a fan to help, but they had none available, and the ceiling fan barely worked. The showers needed a proper cleaning. At least the water itself was fine, hot and cold. Noise started around 7AM right outside our room and went on until late at night, so it wasn't a restful place to spend time. The TV only played the same guide on a loop, and our DVD player didn't work when we tried to watch a movie. The place has good points, but this stay wasn't worth what we paid.

A decent place to sleep while you do your vacation activities elsewhere. The breakfast was good, and the staff were very nice, though one employee was rude to us. There wasn't much to do besides watch TV, and I'd have liked more outdoor spots to sit and relax. I didn't get a chance to see the private beach.

I travel here solo as a woman and always feel safe. The staff are friendly, many speak excellent English, and they go out of their way to make guests comfortable. Borgelais, a young Haitian staff member, was especially helpful, checking my Wi-Fi, bringing water, serving me juice at the bar/restaurant, and chatting politely. The attached restaurant serves amazing food, and breakfast is delicious. There are pleasant little places to lounge, plus a lovely pool. It's a quaint, comfortable hotel and I'd definitely recommend staying here.

We had a great time at this hotel. The beach is just around the corner, the pool is beautiful, and the food was great. We'll be back soon!
