Low water pressure was the one real inconvenience during our stay. Otherwise, The Ollsons had a comfortable feel and a lovely atmosphere. The food was good, and the air conditioning worked well, which matters in Haiti. We enjoyed our time there.

I hope they rebuild this historic hotel someday. It probably won’t be the same, but maybe they can preserve its spirit.

The atmosphere is nice, and the wifi was good. Service can be slow, so don’t go if you’re in a rush. The food was mediocre, and the sandwiches in particular can be misleading. It’s a shame for a place that’s so popular.

This is a distinctive hotel with helpful staff, and there’s live music on Thursday evenings. It may not suit you if you’re after an upscale US-style hotel. But if you want somewhere clean and reasonably priced, with a feel that fits its Haitian surroundings, give it a try.

The historic gingerbread house design and the water views made this a lovely place for lunch. We spent about an hour on the porch, enjoying the food, music, and breeze. Even though it’s right in Port-au-Prince, sitting outside felt really relaxing.
