Al Habtoor Palace Budapest Hotel

We’ve now stayed at Habtoor Palace Budapest twice in less than a year. The location is central and makes it easy to get around. Inside, the hotel is beautiful and elegant, with a palace feel that’s still comfortable. The gym is lovely and well equipped, and the pool, sauna, and jacuzzi were especially welcome in the cold weather. The staff were warm, helpful, and made us feel looked after from the moment we arrived. We were also wowed by the Diptyque products in the room. I asked reception if we could take them home, and the General Manager, Mr. Rahim Abu Omar, kindly left them in our room as a gift. He was welcoming and very down to earth, and that thoughtful gesture made the stay extra special. I’d highly recommend it in Budapest.

We were in Budapest for a few days before boarding our Viking Embla River cruise ship, and the hotel was right in the heart of the city. Christmas markets surrounded the area, and we were directly in front of St Stephen’s Basilica, picture perfect. It was a birthday and Christmas trip, and the hotel left a wonderful dessert, champagne, and a birthday card signed by the staff in our room. The room was excellent, with a super comfy bed. Front desk staff were amazing and helpful, and we had a lovely conversation with the restaurant manager. We also had the grand brunch on Sunday before leaving, and it was worth every penny. Our stay was 10/10, and we’d definitely return. I think greeting the staff in their language helped too, and they seemed to appreciate it.

The Arabic coffee and welcome dates were a lovely touch, and I appreciated that the management had a prayer room. The rooms were very clean, too. The staff were genuinely kind and helpful, and Miss Jazmin did everything she could to make us comfortable. She followed up the next day as well, which meant a lot. Thanks to her for all the support, and to Mr Abu Omar, the Hotel manager, whose influence brought a real Emirate touch and Arabic hospitality. Breakfast tip: ask for the Balaleet. Highly recommend.

The room was very clean, and the location made it easy to walk almost everywhere. There’s also a public transport hub right outside. At night, street noise and people outside could be a little loud, but ear plugs made it fine. The staff were kind and accommodating throughout. Concierge answered all our questions and helped book train tickets when I couldn’t get it working and was stressed. Breakfast staff were attentive, the front desk arranged a taxi when we asked, and the porters were pleasant and helpful. Housekeeping and the bartenders were wonderful too. Probably one of the top three hotels I’ve stayed at. Can’t wait to return!
