Amadeus Hotel

The new owner seems to be making good changes already, with renovations to the building and furniture underway. I ended up enjoying my stay a lot more than I expected. For a straightforward three-star place, it felt like very good value in Budapest, especially if you aren't after anything fancy. The rooms are roomy and tidy, with useful basics like AC, a small fridge, a hairdryer and a TV. Some of the furniture is old and worn, but it works and is clean. The lift works too, and there's free parking. Breakfast costs extra. The area felt safe and pleasant, with a shop opposite and bus stops nearby. It's a bit of a trip into the city centre, though. Traffic noise can be heard at night, so light sleepers may struggle. In summer the room can get hot, but the AC helps. Wi-Fi was fine in the morning and less reliable in the evening, probably when more people were using it. The staff handled the questions and requests I raised at reception, though communication with guests could be better. I didn't expect much, but had a really enjoyable stay.

The only downsides for me were the distance from the city centre and having no hot water for a shower in the morning. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay and thought it was good value for the money.

We only spent one night here. The room was nice, and the shortcomings we noticed were minor. Disposable slippers in each room would be a good addition. Thanks, Hungary.

I read the other reviews, but my stay was a good one. The staff were lovely, the rooms were clean, and I couldn't fault the hotel. I'd happily come back.
