We had no complaints and would happily come back. The place is in a lovely garden a little outside the center, with buses and trams close by. Walking into the city center takes about 4 km. The rooms are beautifully furnished, and the stylish interior feels carefully finished down to the details. Even the organic cosmetics smell lovely. Breakfast from the nearby bistro was excellent, with coffee and soft drinks available throughout the day. The beds and feather pillows were very comfortable.

After long days exploring the city, this was such a lovely place to return to. We stayed three nights, and the room was spacious and gorgeous, with very comfortable beds. The staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast was delicious, and when we had an early flight on our last morning, they had an incredible packed breakfast ready before we left. Janka and Vivienne deserve a special thanks for being kind, communicative, and helpful before and during our stay. I’d highly recommend Bagatelle Gardenhouse in Budapest.

I left after three days feeling completely refreshed, as if I’d had a break from everyday life. Gardenhouse feels like the kind of home I’d love to have, with beautiful rooms that each have their own story, tasteful furniture, and art everywhere. The details feel carefully considered, from ethically sourced handmade soaps to the comfortable mattresses. So many things are sourced locally, and the specially commissioned crockery, floor tiles, and soft furnishings make the place feel distinct. Breakfast comes from the Bagatelle Bistro menu next door and is delivered quickly, so you can enjoy it with a freshly made flat white. The location makes it easy to get across the river to Pest’s attractions by public transport, then come back to a peaceful retreat. The welcome felt personal and friendly, and the staff seem more like family than a team. Budapest is worth a trip just to stay here.

I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The neighborhood is green, and there’s an amazing swimming hall near the gardenhouse. Everything was lovely, just as other guests have said. 💚
