Bp Design Hotel & Apartman

The staff were quite nice, but the location was the only real plus for me. Breakfast came in a basket: sugary juice, cheap convenience-store croissants, and the other items shown in the photo. Maybe I was just unlucky, but every night the shared air conditioning was turned up to baking heat because another guest was cold and had asked for the heater. It made sleeping impossible. If you can get a room with a real window, do that. The virtual window was disappointing.

The rooms were beautifully designed and very clean, and the employees were so friendly. My boyfriend and I had a great stay at the Bp Design hotel. They also gave us great recommendations for places to see and eat in Budapest. We’d definitely stay again!

I slept wonderfully because our unit was far from the street and whisper quiet. It was also inexpensive, clean, and very new, with a large bathroom. The staff were helpful and very nice, and we had a bottle of Hungarian white wine waiting in the room. It’s an easy walk from the main train station. There are 11 hotel rooms and three apartments. There are some serious construction issues, though. The stairs between the first and second floors, which are the second and third floors in the US, have top and bottom steps half the height of the others, a serious tripping hazard and a US building code violation. There’s no elevator. One of the two skylights leaked down the ceiling, and the shower head holder and soap dish were loose because their screws were missing. Don’t expect a big street sign. There’s only a small sign on one street door, then you need to be buzzed in, cross a courtyard, and enter the hotel in what was probably the original main building’s carriage house. No frills, but fine if you want an inexpensive place to sleep in Budapest.

Our stay was great, and Sylvia at reception made it especially memorable. Across all the countries we’ve travelled through, she’s one of the kindest and most helpful staff members we’ve ever met. Her work deserves appreciation and a promotion. She made the whole visit extra nice.
