Casa de la Musica Hostel

The decor and facilities look clean and appealing, and the bar looks great. The location is the only reason I’m giving this place two stars. It could be a five-star stay if the staff put some effort into a few easy fixes. They were unfriendly, the bar only seemed to open when they felt like it, there was no card machine, and they wouldn’t give a key to each person in a group. Guests have to make their own beds and strip them afterwards. Breakfast was advertised but wasn't actually available, so the menu should come off the wall. None of these things would cost anything to fix.

The terrace is a nice spot with food and a bar that opens in the morning. There's someone at reception all night, but to get in you need to call the number posted by the entrance. The rooms are alright, though the beds are small and noisy. The linen was clean, but looked very old and overdue for replacement.

The room had a really overpowering body odour smell, but if you can get past that, the rest is fine. It's a good spot, with the tram stop about a three-minute walk away. Places you might want to visit are roughly 20-25 minutes on foot. Staff were helpful, and there were maps plus information about free walking tours and pub crawls. The beds were comfortable. I expected my mattress to be hard as a brick, but thankfully it wasn't.

I stayed just one night, though this seems like a nice hostel for a few nights. There’s internet, a pool, and a pleasant area to hang out and meet other travellers. The beds were comfortable with clean sheets, the bathroom was clean and the shower was nice. Breakfast is available for a small fee. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I’d recommend it.
