Be very careful. Our holiday was spoiled. We booked this apartment for nine nights through Stayforlong.co.uk, but arrived to find a closed door. Nobody answered the phone, and they said we had come to the wrong address. Stayforlong.co.uk couldn’t guarantee anything, so I was left dealing with the problem alone. I was told to book another hotel, then my order was cancelled the next day. The money was taken from my cards straight away, but nobody knows when I’ll get a refund. This was the worst service I’ve ever seen. Stayforlong.co.uk did nothing for its clients. It felt like deceit and fraud.

I paid for two nights and called about getting the keys. Lenard Hoffmann then told me the place was overbooked and said we’d get a refund. But Tom, the manager, claimed we were a no-show and refused to refund us. I recorded the message and sent it to my lawyer, who will now sue the hotel. This feels like a total scam.

This feels like a scam, and Booking doesn’t block them. Even if you select payment at the property, they ask you to pay a couple of days before your stay. Or they want to meet you at an address different from the one on the Booking site, and take cash before giving you the apartment entrance code.

Please be warned. We booked two nights, and TOM, the manager or owner, said we could check in after 1 am and asked us to call the hotel when we arrived. The phone was switched off. He later said we were a no-show and refused a refund. We only found the many similar reviews online after it happened. The owner or manager is a crook and a fraudster, in my view.

BE CAREFUL, this is a HUGE FRAUD, in my experience. You arrive and he doesn't answer the calls, then he tells Hotels.com that we didn't want to pay the fee, as an excuse to keep our money. In other cases, he says people didn't show up. I'm also angry that Hotels.com published this listing without checking who was behind it. Just read the other comments. This kind of fraud seems very common in Budapest. I'm disappointed with everything that happened, and sorry for that country. I won't return to a country that doesn't defend or help tourists. I hope this helps and that it doesn't happen to you.
