Courtyard by Marriott Budapest City Center

Breakfast was nice, the staff were very helpful, and it was good value, so I’d happily come back. The location is convenient for public transport, with the main sights along the river about 20 minutes away. There’s a big shopping mall right next door, plus lots of restaurants nearby. The furnishings feel a little dated, and the room carpets are quite old.

We stayed at five Courtyard hotels during our Europe trip, and this check-in was the disappointing one. I’m a Marriott Titanium member, but the front desk person didn’t acknowledge my status. He focused on the fact that I’d used Marriott reward points and said I wasn’t eligible for an upgrade. We were put on the same level as a tourist group, and our room was right in front of the elevator. The restaurant and bar servers and the housekeeping staff were professional and courteous. The hotel was busy, probably because of its location. I think some of the front desk staff need more training.

A great spot near the city center, with restaurants close by and reasonable prices. The sauna and steam room being open even at 2 a.m. was a lovely surprise. They’re small, with room for just two people, but that worked out nicely when jet lag kept me awake.

The location is right in the heart of the city, with public transport easy to reach. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the clean, cozy rooms had big windows. They’re not especially large, but they were comfortable. Had a great stay at Courtyard by Marriott Budapest City Center, highly recommend!
