Katona Apartments

The location is amazing, within walking distance of the river, Citadela, and the subway. The owner was easy to reach and really helpful with our questions. I loved the rooms, and it seems especially good for a big family. I'd book it again and recommend it if you're staying in Budapest.

The location made it easy to walk to all the sightseeing spots, and it was still quiet despite being right in the city center. The apartment was new, clean, affordable, and had what we needed, including a hairdryer, kettle, dishes, blankets, and shampoo. Janos was lovely and helpful. He gave us good suggestions for places to go and checked that we had everything. Thanks for a wonderful stay, Janos! Vanessa and family.

The flat was spacious and clean to a good standard, and the location was very convenient. But I wouldn't recommend it. I booked through Expedia expecting two queen beds and only found one. The host was kind and did sort things out after I raised it, but I arrived after 9:30 p.m. to no warning that there was a problem. He first said I should have told him, even though my Expedia booking clearly listed the room type. The next day, it was set up with one queen and two single beds. Some advance communication with me and Expedia would have helped a lot. The building is old, with lots of small units and a somewhat chaotic feel. I can't confirm anything, but some of the nearby units gave me a questionable impression. For a little more money, you can find better managed hotels nearby.

Parking isn't provided, but that was the only issue during our two nights at Katona Apartments. My boyfriend and I found the apartment clean and well equipped, with comfortable beds and excellent air conditioning. It felt extra secure, so we didn't worry when we went out. The location was great, and the host was kind and waited for us to arrive. We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back. :)
