Dfive Apartments - Elizabeth Garden

Affordable, and the location is great.

The building's inside feels unwelcoming, and the building itself isn't especially attractive, though we had no problems there. The apartment is very well furnished and has everything you might need. It's in a very central spot, overlooking a square that gets colorful in the evening with the bars and the Budapest Eye. Young people tend to hang out there. St. Stephen's Basilica and the Great Synagogue are only a 4-5 minute walk away.

The luggage office was a plus, about a five-minute walk from the apartment. The location is very central, but cleanliness was awful. The building was extremely run-down and dirty, and inside the apartment we found dust, cobwebs, and sheets that weren't very clean. The kitchen was dirty too, and the utensils for guests were unusable. Check-out is at 10:00 AM and check-in at 4:00 PM. I wonder what they do during those six hours, given how dirty we found the place. They really don't seem to know what cleanliness means.

We canceled as soon as we saw the state of this place. We'd booked a different apartment but couldn't use it because of a burst pipe, and were offered this one instead. The photos looked good, but the run-down stairwell was a bad first impression, and the apartment was worse. It hadn't been properly cleaned. There was mold in the bathtub, brown stains on the mattress, and hair on the dishes. The tub was dirty, the stove was rusting, the kettle was completely scaled up, and the mattress was ripped. A complete disaster. This doesn't even deserve one star.
