Gold Hotel Budapest

The buffet breakfast was very good, and the rooms were clean. Staff welcomed us warmly and were polite. There’s a bus stop into the city just a two-minute walk from reception. I’d highly recommend it for a Budapest city break.

I slept incredibly well on the comfortable mattress, and the shower pressure was among the best I’ve had. The air conditioning also cooled the room well during the last two days of a heatwave. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, with the usual eggs, cereal, fruit, pastries, yogurt, sausages, toast and bread, coffee, tea, and OJ. Parking is limited and probably couldn’t fit every car if the hotel were full, but the hosts kindly moved cars around so we could park. The hotel looks a bit old, though I felt that added to the historical atmosphere.

The only reception men were nice. The other workers weren’t, the breakfast was inedible, and they left water in the room without telling us it wasn’t free. We absolutely don’t recommend this place.

I visited on April 5th and was disappointed with Gold Hotel Budapest. Instead of the proper hotel room shown in the listing, we were put in an old apartment. Breakfast choices were very limited, and I didn’t feel safe there. The in-room safe didn’t work, which made me even more uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel based on this stay.
