Good value, and a great location. The kitchen and Wi-Fi are included, the rooms are spacious, and the toilets and showers were clean. The bed layout still gives me nightmares, though. Most of the receptionists were helpful, apart from one grumpy Hungarian woman. There’s also a bar downstairs that opens at 18:00. I’d recommend it, it’s one of the better hostels in Budapest.

It’s cheap and well located, but the bathrooms were flooded and a little moldy. At 7 a.m. a drunk person woke me by shouting and throwing things. The hostel rules say that’s grounds for removal, but staff didn’t act because they “didn’t want to cause an issue.”

The staff were unhelpful and unfriendly every time I tried to get help. I spoke to three different people at three different times about my disruptive roommate, but they brushed me off, said they’d talk to the manager and get back to me, and then nothing happened. I never heard back. We had to spend four nights in that room before moving to the private room we’d booked. Two other people checked out early because of the roommate, and one incident nearly turned into a fight at 3:30 a.m. I barely slept, and one night I ended up sleeping on the couch outside the room. There wasn’t the usual hostel atmosphere either. The whole experience was a waste of money. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The good parts were the Wi-Fi, the nice people and staff, and the amazing location. The toilets were okay, but the showers were grimy. There were only two men’s toilets and showers for the 12 people in our dorm. The listing said four beds, but we got a 12-bed dorm. I wasn’t too bothered by that at first. What really worried me was the bedding: I never saw it changed while I was there. I woke up with several bites, and after reading other reviews about bed bugs, I now think there may have been bed bugs here. They should make it clear that bedding is washed, perhaps by asking guests to hand in their sheets at checkout, and advertise the 12-bed dorm properly. Also, be ready to hear people having sex at 7 a.m. when you head to the shower or toilet.
